It is nearly the end of July, so it would appear that it is 3 weeks since I last wrote a blog here, which is pretty bad!

The writing is finished, I finally managed to finish Of Kings Queens and Noblemen about the 10th July, so that felt good.  76k long too, which is pretty impressive considering the ending needs lots of work and I missed out some in the middle because the story wasn’t progressing fast enough for my liking – will have to see what happens.

Back to editing Chrystias and working very hard on Chapter 5 which needs some work, apparently.  But I do agree with those in my writing group who have responded.  It needs some work to make Tycelon stronger and to get rid of some anomalies that were hanging around.  Still, I am liking the changes I am making.  Only have part of chapter 16 to go and I can post the last part of book 1 our to my Writing Group – yes!  Then it is into editing the second book – which I am looking forward to.

Next month is editing month at KiwiWriters – that means I might get out Of Kings Queens and Noblemen and edit that, but more keen to get the Chrystias finished so I can start getting that submitted to agents / publishers.

Next month Billy is off to school – wow, time flies!  He is getting ready for it too, he knows its coming and getting excited.  I am excited too because I can’t wait to have some time to myself to start being more productive in my writing, and also more productive around the house.  I clean something and ten minutes later it looks worse than before I started…  Typical really.

I have joined e-fiction book club, where a group of us review books that are available on the internet to read.  It is an interesting experience, but it means I have lots of reading material at the moment.  Cassie also sent through her Lifeline Novels for critiquing, and that is a good read.  I hope she finds a publisher for it.

I have also just finished reading and reviewing Lee Pletzer’s novel – the Last Church.  That was a very good story, for a horror i enjoyed it, it wasn’t gory, it wasn’t spine chillingly frightening, it was a possibility that may happen in the future, a good NZ yarn!
