I suppose I should tell you a bit about me…
I live in Tapawera, which is a small town just south of Nelson, it is a beautiful place, hot and dry in the summer, very bitterly cold in the winter. I live here with my darling husband Kerry and my son Billy. I have two step sons, Lance and James who spend just about every weekend with us and are both absolutely positively rugby mad!
I work as a Contract Loss Adjuster, which means that I assess claims, do reports and send them through to a head office. This is perfect for me because I get to work from home, doing a job that I have loved with a passion since I first got a job in a Loss Adjuster’s office as a receptionist.
I love writing, it is something that I have done on and off since I was little. I remember the first story I made mum type up called Alley Cat, and it was about a cat that lived in an alley, I was so proud of that story. I have always been better at expressing myself in writing than by speaking, forming words on paper works for me, I get to edit it, change it, make it more how I want it to sound (except if I handwrite, then I generally have to get it right the first time!)
I write mostly at night because my son, Billy, doesn’t like it when Mum is on the computer all day. Kerry isn’t too impressed either, but then we get to cuddle in bed, and I don’t write all weekend, just in the evenings. I love my husband so much, he is my pillar and my angel. He is the one who keeps my ideas grounded, and will keep me grounded once I become a world famous novelist!
